Building safety

We are delighted to offer a wide selection of off-plan and ready-to-move apartments to buy and rent at Greenwich Peninsula. Our beautiful apartment buildings have been thoughtfully designed by experienced architects and built using high-specification materials, following all necessary safety protocols, practices and regulations.

We take building safety incredibly seriously at Greenwich Peninsula, and have a rigorous Building Safety Complaints Procedure. If you have any concerns about fire safety, structural failure or the performance of an Accountable Person (individuals or organisations responsible for the common parts of a building), you can follow the procedure and have a formal complaint filed within 48 hours.

In the event that you need to speak to someone urgently, all of our apartment buildings have access to a concierge who is available 24/7. Are you already living in one of our apartments and want to get in touch about building safety? You can contact us in the following ways:

Community safety strategy

We take a holistic approach to safety at Greenwich Peninsula, consulting a wide range of individuals, organisations and stakeholders to ensure everyone works together to create a safe and thriving community on the Peninsula.

As the developers of Greenwich Peninsula, we work closely with Lee Baron (the property & estate management team), PBM (Managing Agent of Lower Riverside), the security team, local police, the Royal Borough of Greenwich and our residents to continuously review existing safety measures, and understand what is working or what we can improve. Our Community Safety Strategy aims to inform, educate and build resilience:

Inform - We host regular meetings and knowledge shares with the local council, police, stakeholders and members of our community in order to keep everyone updated and aware of safety priorities.

Educate - This will be covered in more detail below but we run several community events each year about different safety topics, with guests from key organisations such as the Met Police or L&Q (a housing association).

Reduce - With everyone informed, educated and aligned on safety measures at Greenwich Peninsula, we strive everyday to reduce the risk of any resident feeling unsafe.

Community safety events

As mentioned above, part of our safety strategy at Greenwich Peninsula is to provide education and awareness for residents. We have held a number of community safety events over the last couple of years and will continue to run regular events each year.

The events focus on different topics each time and we invite residents, local police and other important organisations. The community safety events offer a brilliant opportunity to hear from our residents about their concerns as well as current safety measures that are working well. We pride ourselves on being able to keep an open line of communication with all our residents.

Recently, we ran a security forum as well as a Community Safety Day that brought together our diverse community for an event focused on enhancing safety on Greenwich Peninsula, with a special focus on reducing violence against women, girls and gender diverse people.

A number of organisations delivered talks, advice, workshops and support for residents, including Neighbourhood Watch, Jujitsu and Housing for Women. According to the feedback we received, residents said they appreciated having the space to speak about their concerns and experiences of safety on Greenwich Peninsula and enjoyed the breadth of organisations present!

Local police measures

We have a strong relationship with the local police and local council, who also implement security measures in and around Greenwich Peninsula. Some of the additional safety measures include:

  • CCTV
  • High visibility and targeted patrols
  • Education in schools
  • Stop and search measures where appropriate
  • Confronting anti-social behaviour
  • Dispersal zones
  • Neighbourhood Watch groups to get the community involved

Ensuring your safety during events

We care about the safety and wellbeing of every single person who visits Greenwich Peninsula, whether you’re living in one of our apartment buildings, heading to the O2 ICON Outlet for a day of shopping or simply passing through on your way to work.

One of the most popular reasons for visiting us at Greenwich Peninsula is our incredible range of events throughout the year. We have everything from art exhibitions and design festivals to youth clubs and yoga.

Greenwich Peninsula is also home to the iconic O2 Arena which hosts hundreds of events each year with up to 20,000 people attending. If you’re looking for a fun night out with friends, why not book a show and enjoy a delicious meal at Canteen Food Hall beforehand?

We understand how important it is for you to feel safe at any event on the Peninsula, which is why, alongside everything we mentioned in the previous section, we also put extra security measures in on big event days, and are in constant communication with the O2 Arena to help keep all attendees and Greenwich Peninsula residents safe before and after events.

When visiting Greenwich Peninsula for the day, you should take the same precautions that you would if you were visiting anywhere else in London or attending any other event. Some of our top tips for keeping yourself safe at events include:

  • Never leave your personal items unattended.
  • Keep your valuables in zipped pockets.
  • Choose an easily identifiable meet up point that everyone can return to if you get separated from your group.
  • Ensure children have emergency contact details on them.
  • Speak to members of staff if you need help with anything.

The friendly members of staff around Greenwich Peninsula and the O2 are always happy to help you with any concerns or questions you may have before, during and after your event.
