Canteen MezzanineImmerse yourself in the delicate and festive art of paper cutting, a cherished tradition that dates back to the Han dynasty in China.
This intricate craft, originally practiced as a form of decoration for windows, lanterns, and walls, carries deep symbolic meaning. Each design, often featuring shapes like snakes, flowers, and Chinese characters, represents wishes for good fortune, prosperity, and happiness.
Guided by the Yi Craft instructors, you’ll use vibrant red paper—a traditional colour symbolising luck and joy—and precision-cutting tools to create your own decorative pieces. This hands-on workshop is a perfect way to welcome the Year of the Snake while exploring a beautiful and meaningful cultural tradition.
Whether you're new to paper cutting or an experienced crafter, this session offers an opportunity to connect with Lunar New Year customs and take home a piece of art you’ve created.
