Learn how to darn with leading textile artist Celia Pym.

Pym’s 2024 Fashion Commission ‘Socks: The Art of Care and Repair’, sees NOW Gallery transformed into a creative workshop space, inviting all to practice the art of visible mending.

Pym and a team of mending experts will demonstrate the woven darn. Socks will be available in the gallery to practice the technique; Pym also invites visitors to bring their own socks to repair.

Book tickets to Socks: The Art of Care and Repair on 7 December and come along to Pym’s sock mending workshops, allowing visitors to drop in and learn hands-on repair techniques as part of the exhibition experience.  

About Celia Pym: Celia Pym is a London-based textile artist celebrated for her work in mending and repair, exploring themes of care and sustainability. Her practice often focuses on visible mending, using techniques like darning to highlight the beauty in wear and damage.

Celia’s work has been exhibited internationally, and she has led workshops that encourage creativity and connection through the act of mending.
